Question:

Will I be affected by myPATH?

Answer:

If you are a taxpayer with Motor Fuel Tax obligations and manage your account online using e-TIDES, you must transition into the new myPATH system to file your January 2019 return. The deadline to file your January return is February 20, 2019.

Important for Motor Fuel Tax and Alternative Fuels Tax accounts: Effective January 23, 2019, Motor Fuel Tax and Alternative Fuels Tax accounts will no longer be using e-TIDES for online payment and/or filing purposes.

International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA), Motor Carrier Road Tax (MCRT), Alternative Fuels Tax and PA Fuel Transporter accounts will have the option of using the new myPATH system starting in February 2019.

Once myPATH is available, e-TIDES will redirect current users to the new online system.

What can I do in myPATH?

Answer:

​myPATH offers a number of new features that will improve the experience for accessing account information and meeting tax obligations.

myPATH will allow IFTA, MCRT, Motor Fuel Tax, Alternative Fuels Tax and PA Fuel Transporter users to:

  • Register and renew their accounts online.
  • Make Automated Clearing House (ACH) debit payments online.
  • Save payment information.
  • File tax returns and receive funds through direct deposit.
  • Submit and review amended returns.
  • Manage credentials.

How do I enroll for a myPATH account?

Answer:

Eligible taxpayers will be receiving a letter from the department in February 2019 with your tax account information and instructions on how to enroll for a myPATH account.

IFTA, MCRT, Motor Fuel Tax, Alternative Fuels Tax, and PA Fuel Transporter accounts are eligible for myPATH. If you request any Motor Fuel Reimbursements, you will need a myPATH account.

Third party tax professionals, such as certified public accountants, will also have the ability to be granted access to their clients’ myPATH account(s), allowing view-only access to tax information, or the ability to file returns and make payments.

What are my options for paying through myPATH?

Answer:

​MyPATH will offer the ability to remit payments through an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) by linking to a payment account.

Credit and debit card payments will continue to be fulfilled by OfficialPayments.com. Choosing to do so will result in being redirected from myPATH.


​Question:

Can I manage my account information on myPATH?

Answer:

​Yes. All affected account types will be able to manage their account information through myPATH, including DBA name, address and managing third party access (see below).

The affected account types are IFTA, MCRT, Motor Fuel Tax, Alternative Fuels Tax and PA Fuel Transporter.

Can I allow a third party, such as a tax professional, access to my account using myPATH?

Answer:

​Yes. myPATH allows the ability to manage third party access, including granting view-only access and the ability to file and pay online.
