Businesses, tax professionals encouraged to sign up for electronic statement of account in e-TIDES.

The Department of Revenue is reminding the business community and tax professionals that e-TIDES, the department's online business tax filing system, offers a feature that delivers an electronic statement of account (e-SOA) in PDF format. This feature provides an electronic avenue to receive a detailed electronic statement, rather than waiting for a hard copy to arrive in the mail.

Each e-SOA includes the three most recently filed tax periods, non-filed tax periods, tax periods with open liabilities, payments or credits grouped by tax type. Additional sections show tax periods under appeal, unused restricted credits and W-2 annual reconciliation, if applicable.

Opting to receive the e-SOA gives businesses and tax professionals faster access to tax information. This initiative also reduces costs and allows the Department of Revenue to operate more efficiently.

An e-SOA is especially important for tax professionals as the corporate tax filing deadline approaches. In order to file the RCT-101, a Revenue Identification Number is needed. Opting to receive the e-SOA will provide the user with the taxpayer's Revenue Identification Number.
